DÜRR MÉXICO IS RECOGNIZED BY CIE AUTOMOTIVE-PEMSA WITH THE ENVIRONMENT, SOCIAL AND GOVERNANCE AWARD

On the occasion of having been recognized among more than 15 thousand companies worldwide by CIE AUTOMOTIVE-PEMSA, we spoke with Mr. Sandro Picchio General Director and CEO of Dürr Mexico, «This recognition is very important because it is the first time that CIE-AUTOMOTIVE recognizes the Environment, Sustainability and Governance in a supplier relationship. The company launched the call for around 15 thousand suppliers worldwide. To have received this Award for the work done in Mexico is an honor and a pleasure for the entire Dürr team.

In Mexico we are aligned with the corporate policies regarding Sustainability, Health and the Environment and we have worked hard to advance in this regard. As an example, in 2022 we received the ISO 14000 Certification, in addition, in our plant we have a project to install solar cells in the short term, the change of the vehicle fleet is contemplated to acquire hybrid and electric cars towards the end of 2024, as well as a strong investment in a number of processes towards a 70% reduction in our carbon footprint by 2030, which is a very important goal for the Dürr Group.
To obtain this important recognition, we work hand in hand with corporate policies and apply them to our projects. The implementation of new lines and processes at the CIE AUTOMOTIVE plant in Saltillo, Coahuila is a sample of what Dürr can deliver to its customers with its cutting-edge technology and our top trained engineers.

We are diversifying and growing more and more in technology with new digital platforms, which has given us access to new markets and new customers, such as companies with which we have been working for several years in the United States and Mexico. It is also very important to highlight our current project in Mexico for an international car manufacturer, which is the first completely «Green» plant of this customer and will start operations in 2024 with Zero Gas Emissions. The integration of these important projects has allowed us to work with the same goal as a company and empower our people to continue growing together with Dürr Group.
Also, in an interview we talked to Mr. Víctor Prado, Sales Director of Dürr Mexico, «Being recognized by our client of more than 30 years, in this line of Sustainability and Environment, is extremely important and is a source of pride, since in Dürr, one of our specialties is precisely Sustainability. The most recent project for this plant was based on improving the process of its painting lines for the PICK UPS boxes. In general, the project was based on saving resources directly in the production line. The result is that in the same space, it was possible to increase the capacity of the lines, to reach 30 to 45 units painted per hour, a significant reduction in CO2, without using more water or chemicals, and with important energy savings.
With the upgrade of our robots, our client achieves the best performance; they improved their main indicators and save resources, maintaining the quality of the components they manufacture.
